Native experiences in the containment of the coronavirus pandemic through the eyes of an infectiologist

                        Interview with Dr. János Szlávik, leader of the Department Infectiology of the Centre Hospital Dél-Pest

 

Dr. János Szlávik, chief physician, graduated in 1986 at the Faculty for General Physicians of the Medical University (SOTE). Later he took a special examination on internist, infectious diseases and tropical diseases. Since his graduation he has been working in the united Hospital of St. István and László, at the present as chief physician and head of department, he is a successful expert of HIV-/AIDS-disease, infectious and tropical diseases. He participated in training for tropical diseases in Egypt organised by US Navy. Since 2001 he had been the leader of the Central Ambulance for Adults of the hospital including 12 medical stations and of the Department for Patient Admission, and since 2016 he has been the leader of the united Department for Infectiology (URL1). He is known probably to practically everybody in Hungary, but also to many people abroad, who intend to find up-to-date information on the coronavirus pandemic. At many times we could hear and see his declarations, we can say that he was with other members of the Operational Group practically „house guest” for many people.
