In one of the predecessor institutions of the 2012 founded National University of Public Service, at the Police College, was established the law enforcement master education in 2007. The new master’s program was started in September 2008. With this discipline the college made another step for a linear education system that meets the requirements of the Bologna Process. In addition to the existing higher education in law enforcement, became it possible to obtain a master’s degree in the field of law enforcement. The establishment and launch of this new discipline also remedied a long-standing unresolved deficiency. The institutional reform, implemented simultaneously with emergence of the law enforcement science, required a comprehensive development of the overall education structure, affecting also basic education in law enforcement. Completion of the master education in law enforcement provides a sufficient basis for graduates to proceed to the doctoral program in law enforcement. The study reviews the main stages in the development of the master education in law enforcement and provides a comprehensive picture of educational and training in this discipline.
