On the occasion of the ceremonial closing of the internal affairs section of the ’Celebration of Hungarian Science 2023’ on 1 December 2023 the Publication Award of Excellence, founded by the Editorship of Belügyi Szemle, was awarded for the third time.

The award was given to the authors of the best papers in two categories. The Editorial Board evaluated the scientific papers and the Professional Advisory Board the professional papers, on the basis of the opinions of the peer reviewers. As in the previous year, an ad hoc committee evaluated the proposals received from the members of the two committees and made a professional recommendation for the winners. The members of the ad hoc committee were Professors István Gál (University of Pécs), Gábor Kovács (University of Győr) and Valér Dános.

József Vida’s paper „Settlement on Admission of Guilt – Pros and Cons” was awarded the Belügyi Szemle Award of Excellence certificate of honour in the scientific category.

Nikolett Ágnes Nagy-Tóth’s paper „The police uniform as a symbol” was awarded the Belügyi Szemle Award of Excellence certificate of honour in the professional category.

Zoltán Hautzinger’s paper „Aliens policing in the service of criminal justice” was awarded certificate of recognition in the scientific category.

Márta Fekete, Judit Hegedűs, Gergely Hlavacska, István Jenő Molnár and Katalin Molnár’s paper „The significance of behavioral science and the possibilities of competency development in the higher education of law enforcement” was awarded certificate of recognition in the professional category.

The awards were presented by Dr. László Felkai, Chairman of the Editorial Board of Belügyi Szemle and Dr. Valér Dános, Editor-in-Chief of Belügyi Szemle.
