Interesting crimes, instructive investigations
Remarks of the editor-in-chief to the start of a new column
The columns of Belügyi Szemle will be increased by a new column from this issue, titled: ‘Interesting criminal cases, instructive investigations’. This column is practically not without antecedents. Under the column title ‘Famous criminal cases, instructive investigations’ were already published numerous articles with antecedents for criminal right and criminalistic in Belügyi Szemle. The restart of this old-new column was decided under special considerations from several points of view and as a predicting idea by our Editorship. In the course of their work the editors met many events which were later published by professional colleagues of criminalistic and they mostly gave good fundamentals for a descriptive or empirical paper, in preparation of future colleagues or just for a legal elaboration of the given case. The start of this column was suggested by more university lecturers, too. Many of them recalled that the former description of cases could be used very well at seminars for criminal right and criminalistics, and this type of articles are missed in today’s criminal professional journals. Our newly starting column should also aim rectification of deficiencies and contribution to a more practice-oriented training of students in law enforcement and law.
According to our clear concept we will publish an interesting criminal case and its reconnaissance every month, which may be of interest for a wider public, but also readers, researchers and students can benefit from the elaboration and analysis of the concerned case. We will start our column with description of a case that belongs to frequent delicts and concerns an agent that became one of the biggest enemies of today’s human. The „agent” created by man itself and the use of that is not only considered as a felony but also includes considerable national economical coherences. Not to mention that it promises to gain a significant degree of wealth for the perpetrators, insuring by that the continuous reproduction of this criminal form and transforming the perpetrators for a special criminal lifestyle. The „simple” tendence for recidivism can lead to the development of a mentality that makes this kind of perpetration justified and attractive.
The leader of the new column is Dr. Lajos Hertelendi, pol. lieutenant-colonel, cooperative editor of Belügyi Szemle.
We wish you a lot of fun reading our new column, we hope that this new chapter of our journal will provide you real useful knowledge and information.
