Alarm bells and anniversary? - The perspectives of law enforcement higher education, assessment and proposals
Abstract
Institutional higher education for law enforcement in our country has already a past of half-a-century, as the College for Police Officers (Hungarian abbreviation: RTF) was founded in 1971 by the Statutory Rule No. 39 of 1971, the detailed regulations of that were specified in the Decree of the Ministry of Interior No. 4/1971 (X:19.), resp. in the Order of the Ministry of Interior No. 010/1971. Since 2012, the University of Public Service, Faculty of Law Enforcement (hereinafter: UPS FLE) has been providing higher education in for law enforcement. The primary aim of this study is not to the presentation of the events and changes in the last fifty years, but a detailed assessment of the current situation. Authors present a factual, objective situation assessment supported by scientific research on the current of law enforcement higher education, with proposals for the future.
