The diagnosis based catching up strategy and its implementation - Interview with Miklós Vecsei the Prime Minister’s Commissioner for catching-up

Abstract

During the talk with Miklós Vecsei, vice president of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and commissioner of the Prime Minister for coordination of preparation and implementation of the diagnosis based catching-up strategy for Roma were unintended also many actual and serious problems discussed. In the discussion were mentioned beside catching-up and its definite implementation also other serious problems, like domestic violence, especially the behaviour of men against women. Miklós Vecsei had a real story for everything that made narratives really authentic and it turned out that even unacceptable situations were – as far as possible – solved tenderly and humorously because there is no other way in his opinion. In his person we got known a man looking for solutions in every case and not afraid to prevent problems, and beside all of that his main aim is to help in the fastest and most effective way for indigents under consideration so that they not only accept the help but cooperate actively in forming their fate.

Why is it advantageous that the implementation of the catching-up program came under control of the Minister of Interior, what diagnosis based catching-up means and what is the responsibility of the society. We got answers on all that in the interview conducted by Zsuzsanna Hornyik.
