Aim: In the study, the author describes the cooperation and activities of the general police force and the complementary law enforcement agencies as a possible good practice from the aspect of the public security net operated in Mórahalom district.
Methodology: With regard to the role of local authorities in local policing and public security nets, the author has conducted a secondary research by processing national legal regulations, professional studies and statistical data. In order to develop an objective assessment, the author conducted a focus group discussion with several participants in the Mórahalom district to find out about the measures taken by the municipalities in the field of local policing and the practical functioning of the public security net.
Findings: In order to increase the subjective sense of security of the population and to achieve the desired level of objective security, it is advisable and necessary to maintain and operate the public security net and to further strengthen the current practice, as it contributes significantly to achieving a higher level of public security.
Value: The experiences of the public security net described in the study can be used in practice by local law enforcement officers, as well as by the leaders of other municipalities and police academics. The author suggests a segment of the development of public security that could further strengthen the broad spectrum of public support that already exists.
