The selection of police in Europe in consideration of the attributes of the organization and the education: the case study of Scotland

Abstract

Aim: The aim of this article is to provide an overview of the selection of the Scottish Police and to complete the previous publications related to the entry requirements of UK police forces.
Methodology: The research was performed by elaborating the relevant literature.
Findings: The research identified the major areas of the recruitment, the eligibility criteria and the entry requirements of Scottish Police. The article provides a detailed overview about the selection procedure of police in Scotland.
Value: The article expands the knowledge of Hungarian literature related to police reinforcement, appropriate for comparative analysis and for further researches.
